Kids face a lot as they grow.

They encounter new situations, difficult decisions, friendship problems, changes, worries, and questions they may not have an answer to.

As adults, our instinct is often to help them find the answer.
But what about the times when there isn't one yet?

My “I Don’t Know What to Do” Box was created around one very simple idea:

Sometimes, it’s okay not to know.

When a child has something on their mind and simply doesn't know what to do, they can write it on one of the included cards, place it inside the box, close the lid and click the latch.

For now, they can leave it there.

They don't have to solve it immediately. They don't have to choose the perfect answer. They don't even have to know when they'll come back to it.

They can give themselves, and their thoughts, a little room.

Maybe an answer comes later.
Maybe they decide to ask someone for help.
Maybe the problem doesn't seem quite as big tomorrow.
Maybe they still don't know.

That's okay, too.

The included mini booklet gently walks children through the practice of putting something away for a little while and coming back to it when they're ready.

Made to Grow With Them

The wooden box was intentionally kept simple.
No characters. No bright colors. No design they'll outgrow.

It looks at home on a child's bookshelf today and a teenager's nightstand years from now. And because nothing on the outside announces its purpose, what they choose to put inside can remain quietly theirs.

The little metal latch is more than a finishing touch.

Write it down.
Put it inside.
Close the lid.
Click.

Done for now.

Because learning how to solve problems is important.
But perhaps there is another lesson worth carrying into adulthood:
Not knowing doesn't have to be an emergency.
